Bio: Winstons Beach Club is located at 1921 Bacon Street in the heart of beautiful Ocean Beach. It's a 21+ live music club featuring different local and touring bands every night. Winstons has a full bar, friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and daily drink specials. We open at 1:00 PM every day, and it's always happy hour til 6pm! Our great bands, top notch sound system and location make Winstons one of San Diego's premier venues to see live music. Winston's was founded in 1986 and has continued to provide great live music for over 25 years. We have a great variety of musical genres, featuring rock, reggae, jam bands, world beat, bluegrass, Latin, jazz, soul, punk, hip-hop, experimental, fusion, and everything in between. Throughout the years Winstons has maintained its status as one of San Diego's top clubs where music fans can see a big name concert in one of the most intimate venues in California. Winstons has hosted big shows with bands and artists such as Slightly Stoopid, Melvin Seals & Jerry Garcia Band, Steel Pulse, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, KRS-One, Mikey Dread, Greensky Bluegrass, Los Lonely Boys, The Skatalites, Ike Turner, Sister Nancy, Sprung Monkey, Particle and many others. Winstons hosts the longest running musical residency in San Diego with the Electric Waste Band, the popular Grateful Dead Tribute band that's been playing every Monday night for over 22 years. Winstons is known for live music, but also has some unique happy hour events every week including Think and Drink Trivia every Tuesday, Open Mic every Wednesday, Comedy Thursday, and The Best of Ocean Beach Comedy every Friday. Winstons is the home of NFL fan-clubs for the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers as well as college football with the Texas Longhorns fan club. Winstons also hosts the greatest and most unique karaoke night every Sunday night with OB-O-Ke hosted by our own Jose Sinatra. Winstons is also well known for its involvement in many special events, parties, and community activities such as the annual Ocean Beach Street Fair, the San Diego Oktoberfest, OB Beach Ball and the San Diego Blues Fest. Winstons has also supported a diverse array of local causes and charities including the Leukemia & Lymphoma society and many benefit shows to provide assistance for community members who have suffered injury, affliction or loss. Winstons is proud to work with the Ocean Beach Main Street Association and a variety of San Diego community organizations.
