Bio: This Festival aims to showcase the real Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian people through their rich culture, history, arts and talents while raising awareness about its fragile and unique ecosystem. Coupled with an awareness campaign starting in late 2017, this family-oriented festival, to be held in Honolulu in summer 2018, ‘19 and ‘20, serves only one purpose: raising funds for critical and recognized social, educational and environmental programmes and local initiatives in the State of Hawaiʻi. From after-school and academic excellence programs to cultural, historical heritage, art initiatives and to biodiversity and ecosystem protection projects; the festival will donate all profits generated to these key organizations and programs. Target: 4-6M$ over 3 years. On a mid-July’18 weekend, the first edition of Eia Hawaiʻi Festival will offer a diverse, enriching, fun and entertaining experience to over 40,000 visitors. The festival will highlight a different Hawaiʻi, the Hawaiʻi of the 21st century, far from usual stereotypes, and only featuring local economic and cultural actors. FAMILY ORIENTED The festival will provide various activities for guests from ages 5 to 69. Guests will have the opportunity to join in the festivities and experience fun, enriching activities and live entertainment over two days. SUPPORTING HI ECONOMY All products, goods and food sold during the festival will be made, grown, produced in Hawaiʻi, hence supporting the HI-based businesses and the state’s economy. Our Commitment – Vendors will keep 100% of all their generated revenues. PUBLIC INTERACTIVITY Through our interactive website, prior to the festival, new artists wishing to take part will submit an audition video. HI residents will then decide on who will perform on stage. What better way to showcase Hawaiʻi than by giving the power to Hawaiians to decide how to better represent their islands’ talents? More than 75% of scheduled acts will be selected by the public prior to the festival. SUPPORTING LOCAL TALENTS 100% of all performers will be Hawaiʻi based. An amateur dance competition will also be held involving local dance clubs and school dance programmes. Funding will be awarded to these groups for the festival. FUN & RIDES For our younger and older audience, rides and specific children activities will be available. All revenues generated by the rides will be donated to various environmental/protection programs. (price per ride est. $0.5 - $1.00) PAYMENT TECHNOLOGY This festival will showcase the latest technology in ticket and payment methods. All visitors will receive RFID wristband as tickets. It will also act as the official payment method during the festival, making this the First Cashless Festival in Hawaiʻi. For more information: www.eia-hawaii.com
