Apopka Ave., Inverness, FL This 3-day music festival dubbed COOTERSTOCK will give good vibrations all weekend as 10,000 surround Lake Henderson. Cooterfest kicks off on Friday Night with fireworks, an exclusive Swamp Party VIP area and great rock n’ roll from Woodstock to the present. Saturday concertgoers will find pop music, water shows and more as it rocks through Sunday evening. New this year, festivalgoers will find food trucks, wide array of vendors, carnival rides, water show spectaculars, and a Cooter, Zombie Run, Talent Show, Cooterween Halloween Costume Contest, and more. For more information: Invernessfestivalofthearts.com Inverness Grand Prix and Motorsports Festival November 18, 2016 5 – 10 p.m. Street Concert November 19, 2016 Noon – 6 p.m. Street Race (The weekend before Thanksgiving) Downtown Historic Inverness, One Courthouse Square This World Karting Association (WKA) sanctioned event will have go karts, racing enthusiasts and spectators geared up for Grand Prix festivities centered on Courthouse Square in Downtown Inverness with Free admission to all spectators and party-goers. Friday night brings the annual STREET PARTY kick off to all festival-goers with a special Friday Night Thunder car cruise in, motor festival vendors, Festival vendors with food, beer and wine and rock concert. The fun begins at 5 p.m. with free Prix Pub and Restaurant Crawl and kids’ zone. Saturday the streets of downtown Inverness will be transformed into a challenging kart racing track. Over six go-karts compete at speeds up to 60 MPH on this very unique street racing event. Main Street will have vendors, classic cars, kids’ activities, music, and more. More information at Inverness-FL.gov St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Concert Saturday, March 11, 2017 Saturday before St Patrick’s (or Saturday of Saint Patrick’s) 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Downtown Historic Inverness, 1 Courthouse Square Join the City of Inverness in its proud tradition of celebrating the green. Preceded by the Shamrock Scamper 5k, the annual St Patrick’s parade starts at 6 p.m., and marches through downtown Inverness. At 7 p.m. the town will shake to the sounds of Shamrock the Block concert with Celtic Rock band Seven Nations. Apopka Ave., Inverness, FL You’re invited to the City’s second annual bass fishing tournament at Liberty Park. Watch the fishing action on Lake Henderson, drawing anglers from across the state. It will be a day filled with impressive weigh-ins and steep competition for the $1,000 hourly prize. Apopka Ave., Inverness, FL Work up your appetite for the Taste of Inverness, a collection of local eateries combining their tasty samples with live music, while local artists showcase their masterpieces. Dining under the stars and more, complete this great night of friends. Patriotic Evening July 3rd 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Liberty Park and Wallace Brooks Park 286 N. Apopka Ave., Inverness Festival starts at 6 p.m. and get there early for excellent entertainment and food. Patriotic Evening is Inverness’ brand of a Fourth of July celebration, held on July 3 each year. You can view the fireworks from two beautiful lakeside locations as well as other spots throughout town. The fireworks display will dazzle a little after 9 p.m. Plus there’s a free concert with food trucks, vendors and draws record-breaking crowds. Pine Street Jam August 5, 2017 The first Saturday of August 6 – 10 p.m. Downtown Inverness, Pine Ave. and Old Main Street The free concert draws thousands to downtown Inverness for an evening filled with the well-loved songs of Jimmy Buffet performed by the ultimate tribute band, the Caribbean Chillers. Downtown historic Inverness is transformed into a Margaritaville-themed street party with live music, street performers, local restaurant and pub specials and a parrot-themed selfie scavenger hunt, Ugliest Hawaiian Shirt Contest, Games and more! There will be a plenty for the kids too, with a fun zone just for them. Come early and make an evening of it as you dine at the sidewalk cafes, restaurants and pubs, and shop the boutiques. This event continues to make the City of Inverness a destination among its neighbor counties and draws an estimated two thousand people to the downtown area for the concert.
