Bio: The Safeway Barbecue Battle, coming up June 25 & 26, 2011, is a super-sized celebration of barbecue, music & fun signaling the beginning of summer on a mile-long stretch of majestic Pennsylvania Avenue. As one of Washington’s largest annual food & music festivals, the Barbecue Battle brings the community together to enjoy many of America’s favorite pastimes. 30 great rock,R&B jazz and blues bands play on 3 stages all weekend. The Safeway Barbecue Battle is the largest annual fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Washington and has raised well over 1.2 million dollars for this vital DC organization.
