True Witness is a New York based band. Their contemporary style of music is a blend of acoustic and electric rock that identifies with all age ranges through various instrument arrangements, inspirational vocals and rhythms. The band originated in 2002 with Tom Bowen, Tim and Dan Adams. They closely collaborated with published poet and lyricist, Christine Bowen, and the band proceeded to develop their unique original musical compositions and eclectic styled arrangements. Their journey began in Florida with performances mostly played in faith based community venues.
In 2003, True Witness changed their focus and purpose, and moved to the Hudson Valley region of New York to perform throughout the Northeast and New England. Their passion was to present thought provoking songs and stories that describe life’s struggles and show a need to discover that love is enough. The band’s intent is to offer clear, simple solutions of hope by bringing Christ to clarity through music and lyrics. The band’s commitment is to provide an encouraging positive message in these tough times. Their distinctive rock sound offers an alternative of strength, faith and hope to everyone living through the struggles and challenges of each day.
The band released their first CD album, “Origins” on December 16, 2007. This album launched at The Walter Hoving Home in Garrison, New York. The Walter Hoving Homes are Christian rehab centers for all aged women and are located in New York, Nevada and California. Their commitment and goal is to rebuild shattered lives and families. True Witness has committed and offered all the net profits of their first CD album “Origins” to support The Walter Hoving Homes (www.walterhovinghome.com).
True Witness released their second CD album, “Once In Time” on March 30, 2008 in which they also launched their “LOVE IS ENOUGH” tour ’08. The “LOVE IS ENOUGH” tour ’08 was a 10 state tour spanning over 7 months. Amongst the multi date tour, True Witness performed at premiere venues like The SoulFest 2008, Utica Music Fest ’08 and BeachFest ’08.
The band is currently performing their inspirational, positive stories in coffee houses, mainstream clubs, Performing Arts Centers as well as outdoor venues and festivals. Their “(Love)² On High” tour ’09 begins March and will continue through December 2009. They released their first Music Video, "How Love Lit The Full Moon", on February 2, 2009. True Witness also produced and released a 20 week video webisode series called "The Adventures of Mik Smada" based upon their popular song and first music video, "How Love Lit The Full Moon".
The band sings their testimony and the music reaches out to all people, everywhere. The music of True Witness is about life, truth, hope, and the love that only Christ can bring.
