About
Founded as the five-piece No Middle Ground in October 2004 in Suffolk, Virginia. After losing their drummer, they entered a period of change. What emerged was the metal that is "To Laodicea". The church in Laodicea was the church in the book of Revelation to whom Jesus said "So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth." Rev. 3:16. To Laodicea's musical direction and lyrics are based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. With each member coming from different pasts they've learned from their mistakes and are all about expressing themselves through the music.
The band is fronted by Mike Santoro, whos vocal style is remeniscent of a Sasquatch lol. Don't let that fool you however, he still has a wicked scream that recalls bands like Demon Hunter and Pantera.
Also on guitar is Ryan (Metal Jr) Potter who is influenced a lot by the great guitar players such as Dimebag Darrell and Kirk Hammett. You can't miss him on stage bouncing around and shredding sweet solos and riffs!
The low-end is held down by bass player Travis Devers. There is no one band or player that can be directly traced through his style, yet there are elements of funk, metal, and traditional rock in his playing. Travis provides solid support for the guitars, always providing the desperately needed drive that really puts the music in your face. Dont be suprised when you hear the bass harmonize with the guitars on more than a few songs, and bass solos are never out of the question.
Brandon Devers is the bands drummer. Formerly the bands rythym guitarist, Brandon moved to drums after the band couldn't find a long-term drummer. Although it was not his main instrument, he has played drums as a hobby in guitar center for quite sometime. A big fan of the metal/death metal scene. This means lots of driving double bass and hammering cymbals for the kids, but he also knows when to pull back and let the melody do its work. Brandon also does backing vocals, lending his growls and scream to support Mike at several points.
Through many struggles and trials the band is still standing strong and pushing forward. Now the band is focusing on new material and working on their full length for a late 08 release. So if its metal you want its metal you get!
