Bio
The Beggars' Guild blends elements of rock, blues, country, folk and pop into tunes that are honest, catchy and distinctly likeable, drawing comparisons to artists like Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Counting Crows, and Bruce Springsteen. Their debut EP,"Breaking Me Down", earned them radio airplay and a slot at the 2007 Bonnaroo Music Festival. Along the way they've continued to draw praise from fans, critics, and their musical peers for their high-energy live shows and exceptional songcraft.
About
The motivation of The Beggars' Guild is simple:
To write, record and perform songs that people love. They've only just begun.
Drawing from classic influences such as Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen, as well as more recent songsmiths like The Replacements, Counting Crows, Del Amitri, and Pedro The Lion, The Beggars' Guild blends elements of rock, blues, country, folk and pop into tunes that are honest, catchy and distinctly likeable.
Their debut EP, "Breaking Me Down", Produced By Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra, Dove Award winner Aaron Shust) and released on the Favorite Gentlemen imprint (Manchester Orchestra, Harrison Hudson) features a strong collection of songs ranging from the Roots/pop "Minnesota" and the title track, to the haunting, folk/country gem "21", and the driving rock of "Old Town".
The Beggars' Guild plays American rock without pretense. Great songs, great players, and an honest voice.
