About
Tim "Buster" Spainhower
Tim began playing piano at age 15 and progressed to guitar at age 16. From the very beginning, Tim had the ambition to be a songwriter. The very first recording Tim did was a cover version of Chuck Berry's "Memphis." This recording was rigged through a home stereo and boom box with his friend and fellow guitar player Steve Johnson. This all took place in a magical land called "Mishawaka."
The first original song written and recorded by Tim was "Tears In Her Eyes." Tim then formed a cover band with Steve called "Noxious." Tim was the bass player in this band since you made more money as a 4 piece instead of a 5 piece. This did not last very long. Tim was replaced. This drove Tim to focus on his songwriting.
In 1993, Tim moved to Indianapolis, IN. Tim hooked up with his neighbor Ken Braden. Ken had some friends that he jammed with every weekend. Enter the good Dr.!!! Tim met Dr. Lunk and Michael "Stu" Ryan in 1993. They began jamming together on a weekly basis and began doing for the most part all original tunes. Tim, Stu and Ken formed Strange Kid Radio in 1995 and began recording. Three albums were recorded with Strange Kid Radio. They were, Strange Kid Radio, Levels and Rendevous. Strange Kid Radio ended while writing sessions were beginning to do the 4th Strange Kid Radio album.
During this time, Tim answered an add in Nuvo for a cover band looking for a lead singer. The band he joined was Orange Whip. This is where Tim met Jim "The Show" Della Rocco. The band had a member quit and reformed as Ike's On Fire. Tim then began fronting a horn-based band called Manifesto along with Jim. This is where Tim first met John Allen
Enter what were to become the Hucks!!! In March 2000, Tim and Ken reunited with Dr. Lunk and began working on material that was more in line with Tim's vision of what he wanted to do. The sessions were incredible. Before they knew it, the first Fabulous Huckleberries album was completed. This album would become known as Alright! Since then, 7 studio albums were recorded with some 78 tracks total!!
In May 2005, Tim and Dr. Lunk began writing sessions for what would become Heart of Stone. Steve Johnson came down for the writing session and contributed to 2 songs for the album. After all tracks were completed with Dr. Lunk and Tim, the Hucks needed a drummer and guitar player. Jim and John graciously lent their talents to the Hucks and became official members of the band.
The Hucks disbanded in December 2006. Mark "Ladmo" Miller and Tim carried on as Into The Mystic, performing all over Franklin and Greenwood. Into The Mystic has now become "Blue Tear" with the edition of new members. The debut album "Mystery or Mischief" is due to be released in June 2007. Check out the Blue Tear Reverb Nation page!!
