The music project is the brain child of Andrew Pearson who is based in Glen Ridge, NJ, USA. The album is The August Single. The whole atmosphere of Third International is that of abandoned warehouses with cobwebs and filtered sunlight tracing dust in the air creating a kind of divine effect. There are also hints of summer evening with dried leaves blown by the wind. Musically, he makes use of the ‘southern’ kind of feel in his music. And he even labels his sound as ‘acid swamp.’ I think music that holds you is music that speaks in whispers rather than volumes. With The August Single, Pearson is going to win more listeners. “After watching the Scorsese film “Surviving Progress,” and listening to Third International's "Entre Las Americas,"’I can say with all honesty that I have now heard a musical group that asks the same questions about what we are up against everyday. “Ellis Island” is a great song that starts on a 16th note pulse of analog sound, very understated synthesizer pads of warm waves of sound, a cool guitar, and cello. The vocals speak of the dreams of millions, with an interesting Simon and Garfunkel sparse harmony, fretless electric bass (yes I’m hearing those cool Jaco-like octaves), and very clever use of minimal textures of hand claps and snare that all fit in a unique way. I like it when a band goes outside of the box. The lead vocals have a delivery that is classic rock sound like Radiohead, and yet you can dance to this song while getting a reality check at the same time.”

“ The Third International are a bit hard to describe, but in general those with a taste for music that takes it's time getting there and doesn't follow conventional patterns, then this would be a good act to try out. Odd, intoxicating moods take songs such as "The Timekeeper's Waltz" and the 10 minute epic "The Reprise" into realms of almost Grateful Dead-type tripiness. That's not to say that The Third International sound anything like The Dead, but the spirit and vibe are there. Guitars, bass and well-placed sax all have their share in the music and the vocals are restrained and sometimes treated in a foggy mix. It's all very well done and quite interesting with something of a live feel, that no doubt would lead to a cool concert experience. "Penitentiary" has a psychedelic, bluesy haze about it, though there are some lively, Jazzy and even Pink Floyd-esque sections. The Third International are well worth investigating. ”

The song, like much of this terrific new release, is played with a fierceness and brutal honesty that could peel the paint off St. Peter’s gate, making Beautiful Accident sound like anything but.
