"...I've Miley Cyrus booked for my funeral but for a more sedate event Taj Mahal and Cork band The Shed". "The Road is the second song released this year by The Shed that I've taken a shine to....Wrecking Ball was one of my favourite tracks of 2013".
“The Shed Despite naming their album Goldfish Love, it turns out the Shed are a very serious set up. Based in Ireland, the six band members produce mature, self-assured music, and are fronted by a singer who, at times, sounds not unlike Bryan Ferry. Given the range of the acoustic instruments they play between them and, if their photos are anything to go by, their ages, they could easily have ended up as a plain Irish folk collective or an acoustic pub band. Instead, what you’ll find here is a brave album’s worth of cleverly crafted songs that stand up to scrutiny, and should almost certainly be given an airing on the likes of 6 Music. Nicely done, fellas. Sarah Bowden”
"The Shed's first album was good but this new one is brilliant!"
"The 7-strong Irish collective have some nice arrangement ideas…..The Shed definitely have a way with a tune, and I imagine they'd be an entertaining live band….." Sam Inglis Sound On Sound magazine January 2008 issue
"The Shed album is exquisite from start to finish" Alan Jacques, Green and Live, Limerick Live 95FM December 2007
"The Spice Girls CD recently got a two-star review in The Ticket, The Shed obviously don't fall into this category" Conor Goodman The Irish Times Dec 2007
"The Shed blew a great many people away last year with their capacity for churning out great rock licks combined with a pop songwriting style that defies description. They also gave me a Track Of The Year and narrowly missed snagging my Artist Of The Year award in a year of some truly incredible competition. So, yeah, I like them" Steve Gilmore, MP3Unsigned
