The Ruckus is a four piece indie band hailing from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Playing an eclectic mix of songs from the funk laden "You Only Like Me Coz I'm In A Band" with its retro sounding wah wah guitars and sing along outro, to the infectious, bass driven beats of "Help A Brother". With a solid catalogue of original material, we aim take you on a musical journey with our modern, poetic lyrics that tell truthful narratives of the lives and times of the youth of today.

We are off to play at Stereo in Barnsley today for the Love Music, Hate Racism Festival. We are on at 4.15pm and there are plenty of bands to watch after. Best of all it is free entry so get yourselve

“And so, the time finally came for the last band of the night The Ruckus. Hailing from Halifax, the band have a had a longish wait to get on and play tonight. But even though they must be tired, they seem to come alive when they get onto the stage. The second they start playing, the sheer energy and fun that the band had infect the entire Lucorum complex, and people begin to file in again.
They sound like a heavy Oasis, like what they would have been if Noel hadn’t joined the band. Or maybe like The Charlatans if they didn’t have the synths; and although vocalist Greg does look rather like Tim Burgess, that’s where his similarities end. Greg has got an excellent voice – he hits the high notes without strain, and never shouts or sounds nasally. The band’s songs are short and leave you slightly breathless and wanting more. Stand out songs include the brilliantly titled You only like me coz I’m in a band, and their opener Must Be The Music.”
