NO COSTUME NO GIMMICK ANGLO-NIPPONESE GARAGE PUNK/ROCK!!
The Routes are based in the mountains of Oita prefecture, playing independently over 600 miles south of the Tokyo garage scene.
The Routes make music taking influence from UK and US 60s music and culture, happily oblivious to the fads and trends of today.
Their debut album “Left My Mind” was released in 2007 on Motor Sounds Records(UK). The band released their debut single on Dirty Water Records(UK) in April 2010.

“L’ anno scorso, mentre voi eravate intenti ad ascoltare i singoli di Crystal Castles, xx e Wavves, i Routes cacavano fuori il primo grande 45 giri garage del nuovo decennio con due tracce di elementare e merdosissimo beat punk che pareva suonato da allucinati figli di capelloni come Missing Links o Outsiders.
Ora è la volta del primo album europeo, secondo in assoluto per la devastante band nipponica che ha scelto di riservare alle uscite minori le cover e concentrarsi sul materiale originale per la scaletta di Alligator, splendidamente illustrato da Christophe Lopez-Huici, il grafico francese che presta i suoi servigi a Shinding! e alle scuderie Get Hip e Fat Possum, tra le altre.
Rispetto a Left my mind il suono è meno deragliante ma per niente più educato.
I Routes aprono le casse del cimitero di Back from the grave e ci si infilano dentro. E, come accadeva su quelle copertine, mandano al rogo tutto quello che è venuto fuori dopo il ’66. Noi compresi.
