Bio
I can't really call this a band because it is formed just by me at the moment, I call it a project that was born from my lifelong love for music and the desire to express and communicate things by it.
About
In 2005 I started this project by the name of The Rough and The Velvet, to evoke the ups and downs of life. I already had a number of lyrics and melodies to put into music but lacked the instruments and knowledge to achieve the results I desired, in this perspective I decided to create a piece of work that was also an exercise, an experiment, an introduction to the making of sound, this is how Synthetic Alchemy was born. In my initial idea I didn't want to spend too much time on it, it was just meant to be a learning process but I learned that learning takes time, a lot of time, so the album took me a year more or less to be completed, after which I had to review it all with an arranger and some technical staff. Sometimes I found this process frustrating, normally I express myself in writing, in a more immediate way, especially the reviewing part, when you have to put so much attention on details. Nevertheless it was a great satisfaction to feel the evolution of creativity and hold the final piece of work in my hands knowing I generated it. It was also a great pleasure and priviledge to work with people who really understand music in it's minutests aspects and make you feel the athmosphere of being involved in the real thing. I'm still very ignorant, but I certainly learned a lot compared to what I knew before and this is helping me in the production of my new album, which is, in fact, an old project that I want to bring to life because I believe I owe it to the girl I was, to all my dreams and aspirations that have been set aside for such a long time. I'm not much better off with equipment actually, because money is very scarce, let's say the first album was not really a hit..., but I have a little more knowledge and experience to bring to this piece of work. Also what I've been doing in the past three years has helped me to better understand what I want from my music, which, I hope will not mean less experimentation but maybe a little less chaos.
