About
The Ragamuffins are a little bundle of joy of a band,
They have been plying their trade across the British Isles for around a year, but are based predominantly in the North West of England.
A hefty emphasis on harmonies, clear arrangements and catchy melodies has earned the band widespread recognition in a short space of time and airplay on BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC Radio Lancashire, on community radio and television stations far and wide, and has resulted in the band’s music being played at some of the most famous football stadia in the world, including Liverpool’s Anfield stadium and Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground.
After really putting the work in; playing triumphant shows across the North West and beyond, wowing at Academy venues and world famous clubs, playing their first international shows in Denmark and Italy and opening for some legendary names in the business, The Ragamuffins are starting to reap the benefits.
New songs and CD's have flowed as the group work prolifically on writing and recording more and more sounds and ideas, honing a jangly, frenetic pop style and groove taking in elements of Northern Soul, Ska, Rock n Roll, 80’s Electro Pop and the music of "The British Invasion" of the 1960's.
This is wrapped up in a dark, witty but uplifting lyricism, owing much to profound pop and indie greats such as Elvis Costello, Morrissey, Lloyd Cole, Ian McCulloch, and Stuart Murdoch, and brought together to produce a unique feel and sound…
