Bio: Starting in the early 90's, armed with an Amiga and finding a place on the many BBS's around at the time, music tracking (modding) became my favourite past time. From that, we shed the trackers and moved on to midi synths and into a studio. A music project called EuphoniX was born and some local ...See Full Bio

Q: I want to hear about your setup Mr. Oldschool. Most of the kids on here probably haven't seen anything of the kind!

A: Cheers! I make heavy use of virtual instruments but not always. Currently use a PC but any and all software I am using does run on two and if I'm really lucky 3 of the usual suspects; Win, Linux and of course OSX. Reason7.1.1 is my main DAW but also use ReNoise as I'm quite comfortable using a tracker based editor considering where I came from. I also use Live. But I always end up mixing in Reason in the end. The SSL mixer is like magic. =) Being able to route CV is also a boon and just seems more "tactile" to me. I have various Livid Instruments like the Alias8 and the Block which I use to play my stuff live and have just started experimenting with Lemur in my iPad. I have an M-Audio Venom hooked up to my Steinberg UR22 interface as well as a mic that I use for sampling various household items. My main controller surface is a Nektar Panorama P4. I use AKG K 240 MKII's for my phones but also use my apple buds along with a logitech gaming headset for further reference. I have to use headphones a lot unfortunately as I can't use the 8" KRK monitors on account of respecting the neighbours until I move! When I do use samples, I simply use Audacity over any of the inbuilt editors in any of the DAWs. More equipment and upgrades to come!
