Bio
"Stadium indie rock." The Moves use electronic elements in addition to traditional rock instruments to round out their penetrating pop sound. The Moves call to mind early U2, INXS, Green Day, and Jawbreaker.
About
THE MOVES began in april 2007 as a home recording project of guitarist/singer dave spaulding following the breakup of his previous band. max shreffler and bryan piper joined shorty thereafter to form the trio. the three quickly began penning tunes and laying down demos.
although the band relies heavily on traditional rock instruments and bring to mind other great three-piece acts JAWBREAKER and GREEN DAY, the addition of electronic strings, synths and keys call upon influences such as ELASTICA, U2, MUSE, and THE CLASH to round out their penetrating pop sound.
THE MOVES have played to sizable audiences at chicago and suburban clubs such as METRO, REGGIE'S ROCK, BOTTOM LOUNGE, CUBBY BEAR, COBRA LOUNGE, CLEARWATER THEATER, CANOPY CLUB , OTTO’S, BEAT KITCHEN, ELBO ROOM, etc. while chalking up spins on several internet and local radio stations (93XRT, Fearless Radio, WLUW 88.7, WONC 89.1).
THE MOVES continue to book aggressively throughout chicago and its suburbs and are currently shopping for labels to release their first professionally recorded EP, "ONE TWO THREE FOUR."
