“February 28 Fuzz Face and The Granny Whites Double Record Release Party Mercy Lounge 1 Cannery Row, Nashville 7 p.m. $8 CD releases are not rare in Nashville. However, a double CD release show featuring a self-proclaimed “queer folk-rock” band and a group of young ladies who consider themselves exceptionally grandmotherly is. Fuzz Face is coming to the Mercy Lounge to debut their first album. This all-male, folk-rock band describes their sound as “fun, twangy and sexy” and is upbeat and fun, not lacking in traditional folk instrumentation. Performing after Fuzz Face are The Granny Whites isan all-girl group who have made a name for themselves playing in Nashville hotspots like 12th and Porter and Mad Donnas. The girls say their music doesn’t fall under any genre, but their soulful vocals and rhythm say otherwise. The Granny Whites’ main gimmick is their ability to add a little “granny” to every song.
