Bio
It is after a great deal of thought that founding member of The Chill, Adam Chilvers has decided to leave the band to pursue other musical interests. Adam formed The Chill with Brother Kevin in 2005 and his loss is felt so deeply that the remaining members have decided not to replace him and to lay The Chill to rest. The band is sure they will work on projects together in the future and that another album of original material will be released in the future. But for now The Chill will play there last gig as The Chill at the Waterside in Hunstanton on 4th December 2009.
About
The Chill started as the brain child of Kevin and Adam Chilvers who had been writing material and playing together for years. Wanting to record some material they asked for help from long term friend and musician Alex Beckhelling. Alex's style and expertise added to the material that the brothers had written and The Chill was born. The 3 of them worked out of a caravan in Gooderstone, Norfolk with a temperamental drum machine. Feeling they needed a real drummer and a second guitarist to fill out the sound Alex invited an old college friend of his and Kevin's, Jon Farmer. Jon joined the band in May 2005 and his heavy yet melodic guitar gave the band another dimension. Now all they needed was a drummer. Fortunately Jon was working with one who he had 'jammed' with in the past. Suddenly within hours of Tom Hamling joining the band in June 2005 the Chill had already recorded their first 3 track demo. In 2006 The Chill decided it was time to record some proper material and recorded 'PUSH' and arranged a distribution deal with APPLECORR which went bust soon after we paid them, nice. So instead 'PUSH' was released as a download on popworldpromotes.com a website run by the channel 4 show popworld, and in June 2006 reach number 4 staying in the top 100 for 4 months, during this time The Chill were busy recording there debut album, which was recorded in that caravan use to record the early demos. In November 2006 'To Be Announced' was released to the world with an album launch at Norwich's Prince of Wales with 100 signed copies of the album given away. Sadly in March 2007, and following the success of the bands 2007 School Tour, Alex decided to leave the band.
Now The Chill are in the process of writing and rehearsing new material as a 4 piece, and hope to release Buzby, a song written by Kevin and Jon in the mid 90's, as a single in 2008.
