THA BOY LEED BIO
Tha Boy Leed known in his younger days as Insidious Misfit started out dancing and rapping in talent shows with his older brother in Los Angeles. By the time he caught the attention of prominent management his family moved to Philadelphia. At that time, he met some friends in his high school that shared the same interests, and they formed the rap group I.C. known today as Blue Chips.
I.C. short for Ill Concepts won talent show after talent show including the Urban Expression talent Search, which landed them spots on channels 12 and 48. I.C.'s first single “No Jive” received heavy rotation on mix shows and in nightclubs in the Philadelphia area during 1998. After graduation, I.C. broke up and went their separate ways, but Misfit has continued on a straight and narrow path.
Misfit dropped his first solo single “All Pro” in 2000 which was well anticipated since “No Jive”. Misfit received the same expected love as I.C. in his new hometown of Philly. He went on to perform "All Pro” at college homecomings, opening for a variety of well-known artists; from rock sensations such as Orgy & Sugar Ray, to hip-hop phenomenons like Xzibit. Basically Insidious Misfit earned his spot on the same stage.
Misfit is featured on six songs on “S.R. All Stars” which is a Suspens Recording compilation released in June 2002. Misfit performs the first single off this CD “Summer Time”. Although it was only promoted on college radio, it was a huge success. It reached and remained in the top 30 on all four major college radio charts: Rap Attack Lives, Insomniac, Urban Network & even College Music Journal for the entire summer of 2002. Besides its nationwide success “Summer Time” also received heavy rotation on stations in Tokyo, various parts of Canada & even Australia.
Misfit's second single “Hot To Def” was released in 2004 and did extremely well on college radio. Misfit is not only the MC on this track, but the producer as well. All I can say is the track is bangin!!! The club banger “We Came To Get It In” on the flip side of single is produced by Suspens and was a hit in various clubs across the nation. It will definitely give Misfit a big enough buzz for hip hoppers to start anticipating his debut album, which he is currently working on. Misfit is not only an MC but is also an up & coming producer.
These Days you can find Tha Boy Leed in the Studio producing tracks and mixing songs for himself, Kar-lethal, Suspens & Blue Chips. If he's not making banging beats or working the boards then he writing rhymes for his compilation mixtape with Blue chips entitled “Team Lead”& his solo mixtape “Follow the Leader” scheduled to drop mid 2008. And if he's not working on that then he laying vocals for his long anticipated solo album “The Life I Leed”. He is presently on the Street Banger “Lord Forgive Em” with label mates Suspens & Kar-Lethal as well as several songs on Suspens' mixtape: Suspens the Don vs Lil Jon hosted by: The #1 Blind DJ TouchTone.
