About
Self taught on guitar since the age of 14, Tara Tinsley wrote her first song the day she learned her first chord. 'I remember sitting in my basement trying to teach myself the G chord. Once I finally got it, I would play it over and over again singing and writing every good idea down on a piece of paper.' Tara recalls. At age 18, she moved from Michigan to California to pursue her dreams to be to become a successful, professional musician and to make the world a better place while doing it. Armed with a repertoire of over 300 songs and her determination, she has come a long way in the past 5 years.
Now, Tara Tinsley is accomplishing more goals thnt she has ever dreamed. Her hit songs, "No Escaping You", "Sail Away", "Highway Run", "Where To" & "Physically Impossible" are being played on radio stations in Northern California, Florida, New Jersey, Los Angeles, the United Kingdom and in Japan. She has also appeared on the television show Movement on TV Japan. Tara's debut album, "Come and Go" and her more recently released album, "Sail Away" are currently being sold on iTunes and in stores in the United States and Japan. She has opened for bands such as Smashmouth, Sister Hazel, Augustana, Shiny Toy Guns, David Benoit and Boston and has performed at major venues such as, the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA and the Modesto Centre Plaza.
Tara Tinsley won the 2006 Modesto Area Music Award for Best Acoustic Artist and now resides in their Hall of Fame. Also, in 2006 she won the Best Band Award at the Annual Bands 4 Bands Awards ceremony. Tara Tinsley has toured in Japan, in most parts of the USA, and is currently planning her first full United States tour for the Summer of 2008. If that isn't enough, she put 2 albums out in the last 2 years, one recently released in Japan and the USA called 'Sail Away' and in 2009, she will be headed for Europe.
This young lady of 23 is bound to make her dreams come true. With a good work ethic and a big heart, anything is possible. And for Tara Tinsley, her dreams are just an arms length away.
