The Hatters (formerly Mad Hatters) have decided to do a reunion show, their first since they broke up in 1996, on Wednesday August 6th at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC after a thread blew up on Facebook forcing their hand! The Hatters, who formed at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1988, were signed to Atlantic Records and put out 3 albums: "Live Thunderchicken", "The Madcap Adventures of the Avocado Overlord", and "You Will Be You". The band was part of the same jam band circuit of the early 90s that spawned such successful acts as Blues Traveler and Spin Doctors out of NYC, which became the band's home. The NYC scene revolved around such venues as The Wetlands, Nightengales, and New Music Cafe and included many acts trying to follow in their footsteps such as The Hatters, God Street Wine, Milo Z, The Authority, The Other Half, and countless others.
