Their song 'Baby Batter Lady' is currently circulating the US and Europe to 42,500 classic rock fans as it is included in the free CD with the Export Classic Rock mag. Classic Rock also chose them to enter a ‘battle’ of the band competition at the end of March, which they went on to win and will be featured soon on the UK version of the mag.
Swanee river have also managed to squeeze in a host of their own capacity filled headline shows and finish their new E.P.

About

2009 has been quite a year so far for Swanee River having secured two sold out support slots with Irish Legends ‘The Answer’ in Nottingham and Glasgow, a massive support slot with rock and metal Gods UFO in Belfast, an Irish Support tour with Taste and a Northern Irish support tour with London band Redtrack; the band have been riding on the crest of a rather large wave!

Their song ‘Baby Better Lady’ is currently circulating the US and Europe to 42,500 Classic Rock Magazine subscribers as it was chosen for inclusion on their monthly free CD that comes with the export mag of ‘Must Listens’.
Classic Rock magazine seems to have taken a shine to the band as they were also chosen to represent Ireland in their online battle of the bands competition where they were competing against Canadians ‘Top Dead Centre’. They went on to win this competiton and have now secured their track being issued to a further 80,000 rock fans with the inclusion in the Must Listen CD of the UK edition of the mag.
On Top of all this Swanee River have managed to finish their long awaited 8-track and 3rd E.P. ‘Kick off Yer Clogs’ and have secured play listings from 5 radio stations globally. (more to come)
They have also managed to squeeze in a number of their own capacity filled headline shows with plenty more planned for the E.P.’s release.
They are slowly building up a team with Indie Label – Sirocco Fonik records (home of Taste) and have have secured interest from a label in LA (top secret!) courtesy of ‘Tony Colton’ from ‘Head Hands and Feet’ who was blown away by the band when caught them supporting Taste in 2008.
It is onwards and upwards for Swanee River eventually as they have sat far too long in the shadows as Irelands best kept secret.

Along the way they have graced the stage with the likes Duke Special(2007), Henry McCullough(2007), Taste(2008 where they got to play infront of world renowned record producer, musician and song writer Tony colton), Jaded Sun (2008) and 8 Supports slots with The Answer building up a steady fan base. They also won the Northern Ireland battle of the bands competition in 2006, picking up a cool £1000 prize money.

They have also been featured extensively in the press including the Derry Journal, the Derry News, the Irish News, Alternative Ulster, Radar Magazine and the Evening Herald (Dublin) receiving raving reviews from all papers/magazines.

On top of this, their two releases’ ‘Back to the Handlebars’ and ‘Baby Better Lady’ have been played flat out on the airwaves on a host of radio shows throughout Ireland including Downtown radio, RTE Radio 1, Radio Ulster ATL (including interview and feature), Maiden city fm (Derry local) 107fm (Ballymena local – interview and feature) and QUB radio.

Their groovy soulful feel to their music has captured the incredible following they now have and made people realize again that it’s ok to like rock and roll!!
