AMERICAN FESTIVAL OF MICROTONAL MUSIC (AFMM), under the direction of Johnny Reinhard, and Jurica Jelic and the Museum of Knin in Croatia, present a four-night series in the Fortress of Knin August 21-24 at 7 P.M. Admission is free at the door for each night. International composer musicians participating include Tolgahan Cogulu (guitar) of Turkey, Jeroen Paul Thesseling (electric 7-string fretless bass) of The Netherlands, Liburn Jupolli (keyboards) of Kosovo, Angelos Quetzalcoatl (guitar) of Mexico, and Svjetlana Bukvich (minimoog) of New York, formerly of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Additionally, Jurica Jelic (guitar/bass) of Croatia, and Johnny Reinhard (bassoon) of New York, the two Directors of this Festival, join in the concertizing. Musicologist Carol Baron will introduce the proceedings with a talk about the UNIVERSE SYMPHONY by Charles Ives before the mammoth composition is listened to by the audience in the form of the recording. The guest musicians will introduce themselves to the audience on the opening night with a solo on their instruments. Over the next three nights, there will be much beauty, surprise, and awesomeness, presented by virtuosi in all manner of combination.
