“They had a dynamic set-up of instruments positioned across the Keller Bar stage. Aside from having a guitarist, bassist and drummer, Pacific Still’s Tracy Tabery-Weller sported two keyboards including an authentic Moog Opus 3. This solidified the new wave undercurrents of this band and helped create a substantial wall of sound effect. At times, Pacific Still would be sweetly jangling through one of their New Order influenced jams only to slow down temporarily and then explode into a wall of distortion and synth that would widen the many eyes upon them. While on other songs it sounded as if The Beach Boys had been reborn into the new wave age. It was this kind of playful movement in their sound that really started to get the crowd on their feet. “I like this bar a lot,” singer and keyboardist Tabery-Weller yelled to the crowd. Most of the Pacific Still seemed to be grinning by the end of their set.”

"Allo Darlin' and The Wave Pictures are well into their third or fourth week on the road throughout America. Personally, I would get sick of spending that much time with strangers, but the two bands seems really bonded. They stopped by Minneapolis' 7th Street Entry last night. Opening up was a local band called Still Pacific. They had a forty minute set, with at least ten songs. They had that boy-girl singing action that I liked. The last two songs on their set were "Blown Out" (which I thought was their strongest song) and "Speeding to my Death"."

“Pop-up books were pretty great to have during the pre-Vimeo age, so it's a delight that the team of Katie Maren and Mike P. Nelson bring such a book to life in local group Still Pacific's new music video. There's plenty of other intriguing details about the clip, which follows the story of a jilted princess, a jerk of a prince, a misunderstood robot, and a whole bunch of medieval martial arts experts. Let's not forget that the group, fronted by Tracy Tabery-Weller on keys and vocals, has fashioned a charming template of smart hooks, and lovelorn lyrics. There are portions that will remind you of a Quintron and Miss Pussycat puppet show, but there's plenty of live action that appears to take place in our lake-ridden locales during friendlier weather. "Speeding to My Death" review.MinneSarah: I'm amazed at this West Coast sounding phenomenon that is taking the Twin Cities by storm. Well, this makes sense, we are New Portland. I like the energy in this song - the vocals are a mix between the British group Lush and Kathleen Hanna. The guitars are fast, poppy, and really make you feel as though you are speeding to your death. This band seems like they would be a blast to see live, and sometimes all you want is some happy, fast, & well distilled music to brighten your day. TCDroogsma: Maybe it's just me, but this song sounds like an unearthed early Tegan & Sarah track (like they were still trying to balance a love of hooks with a love of Bikini Kill). I'll let you decide if that's a compliment or not. To me that comparison kind of sounds like "meh." Still, the song has hooks by the bucketful and is delivered with enough energy to make me think of spring. I suppose that's a win. Not great, kinda disposable, certainly enjoyable.
