Q: What is your favourite funk song? Secondly, who might be your favourite funk recording artist?
A: Appreciate your asking! My favorite funk tune of all time is titled "In Time", by my favorite funk band "Sly & The Family Stone". "In Time" has everything one needs to know or learn about funk in that one song! Even has a drum machine going in the track along with live drums! The song is on the 1973 "Fresh" album by S&TFS. This album was somewhat of a musical and band transition period, where drummer Andy Newmark replaces Greg Errico, and bassist Rusty Allen performs "In Time", "Let Me Have it All", and "Keep On Dancin'". Larry Graham performs bass on "Que Sera, Sera" and "If It Were Left Up To Me", but received no credit on the album. Sly played bass on the remaining tracks. Thank you for dropping by the check out my stuff!
