More About The Artist
Static in the Stars Bio
Hailing from the heart of Calgary, AB, Canada, Static In The Stars are that rare breed of rock band that sets no boundaries, heeds no rules and takes no prisoners. Formed from members of Tidal, Indignance, Atumz Eve, One 900 and Screams of Silence, they have only one vision, and that is to bring rock and roll to the masses.
Staying true to their independent ethos, Static In The Stars’ self titled debut EP was recorded and mixed by the band, and released on their own label Republika Records. Released on August 17th, 2007, this EP is the culmination of countless hours in their own studio drawing on their collective musical history to create a dynamic rock and roll album that offers a striking introduction to the band. From the sing along gold of the first single “The Princess’s New Clothes” and album opener “Reflections in an Accident” to the sprawling, furious yet beautiful epics “Lovers in a Nuclear Time” and “Breaking Bonds Is The Best I Can Do” to the poignant strings and acoustic of “From Here to There (and what’s lost between)”, Static In The Stars announce that they are here to stay.
Cumulatively, the members of Static in the Stars have well over 30 years of experience in the music industry, so upon formation in November of 2006 they set out to make music with no limits, preconceptions nor boundaries of any scene. They feel as at home with intimate acoustic sessions as they do with full on bombastic rock and roll.
Currently Static in the Stars are working with Tom MacDonald from Universal Recording Artists Hedley on a new album. In addition to producing the album it will also be recorded at his studio. Set for release in summer 2008, it will serve further proof that Static in the Stars are here to stay.
