Speakerbox

Speakerbox arrived on the global dance scene to critical praise, with their standout debut release, "Time", which has been nominated for Best Pop Dance Record in 2007 for the International Dance Music Awards!  The single was a top 5 Billboard Club Chart song and and went to #12 on The Billboard Dance Radio Chart.

Hailing from the New York City area this trio of DJ/ Producers (Anton Bass, DJ Sted-E, and Anthony Fonseca) bring their individual talents, influences and music industry experience together to create a unique house/ rock/ electro sound. "Time", which features the sultry vocals of Michelle Shaprow, is sublime and unforgettable from the first line.

Notable remixes produced by Speakerbox include; Avril Lavgine's “when your gone”, Taylor Dayne's “Beautiful”, Soulshaker & Ce Ce Peniston's “shame shame shame”, and Danielle Bollinger's “take it back” and “Surrender me”... just to name a few.

The trio performs as DJ's and/or as a group with their featured vocalists, depending on the venue.  What sets their live shows apart from the average DJ set is their integration of live instruments and visual elements.

Speakerbox's follow up release to “Time” is a collaboration with Crystal Waters.  (Crystal Waters vs. Speakerbox- “Dance Floor”)

This is being released in April/ June 2008.....

Each member of the group brings their own flavor to the table:

Anton Bass comes from a versatile musical background.  He grew up playing in rock bands in the late 80's and early 90's as a bass player and broadened his knowledge and range by studying Jazz in college.  In the mid 90's he was introduced to the New York City undergound dance scene and began his work as a Producer. By the year 2000 Anton's tireless determination lead him to his first professional release with his then partner Konrad Carelli. They called themselves Karmadelic (Jellybean Recordings).  The duo went on to have several Billboard Chart topping songs, including “Check it out”(#2) and “Nothingness”(#8) which both featured Sandy B. on vocals.  Several notable remixes (ie-Luther Vandross-“Can I take you out”, Isaac Hayes-“Shaft”, Ananda Project-“Glory Glory”), and a full-length album provided Anton with essential knowledge and experience in the industry.  As a songwriter, Anton is published by Verse Music Publishing.  Most recently, he produced and co-wrote the song “Who I am” for Ashley Tisdale (Warner Bros.).  In recent years he has produced and remixed artists such as: Kim Sozzi, Goldfrapp, INXS, Ciarra, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Monica, just to name a few...

Anthony Fonseca is originally from Lima, Peru, but grew up between Brooklyn and Tampa Bay.  He also comes from a rock background; throughout the 90's he was the lead guitarist in Colorblind, and later developed the electronic-rock act, The Digital Pimps. He spent the mid 90's honing his skills as a dance music producer and releasing numerous singles including ones under the alias Freakus (with Pete Bones) on Red Ant Records in London. He is now published by BMG and co-wrote and produced the song “Kiss the sky” performed by Danielle Bollinger (EsNtion records), which was a top 10 Billboard Charting song.  Other production and remix credits include: Monica, Lola, Allie, Sarah Atereth, Plummet, Thrill Kill Kult and Emiliana Torrini.

DJ Sted-E has been a hustling and working DJ for over a decade.  When mix tapes emerged, Sted-E pioneered the studio quality and perfection of the mixes.  Eventually, all the mix tape locations in NYC carried his entire collection which included House, Latin, Freestyle, and Reggae.  The digital age brought on the mix CD; which he also introduced to the market.  The overnight success in the mix tape/CD business enabled Sted-E to expand his musical career into remixing and production. Proyecto Uno, India, and Elvis Crespo were some of the first artists to give him the opportunity to remix their works. Eventually artists such as Ja Rule, Christina Milian, Shannon and Georgie Porgie drew from his talents. After working with numerous artists and producers over the next few years, he began putting together his own tracks. “Rejoice” by Carolyn Harding became a hit in France and brought other DJ gigs in Switzerland and Portugal.  In 2004, he collaborated with Ray Roc of The Roc Project to remix “Dejavu”, which hit number one on the Billboard Dance Charts.
