SmokeStack and the Foothill Fury is a duo out of Southwest Montana, Jarod "Smokey" Yerkes and George Fiddler Jr. The sound comes from the South East of America at the foothills of the Appalachians. Where Jarod, better known as Smokey, learned juke joint southern blues for 15 years, from some of the unknown greats of the Piedmont area. Playing all the small blues juke-joints in the Atlanta, GA metro area. Smokey then hit the road, for 6 years and 360,000 miles, honing in his unique blues hill country sound, before falling in love with Montana and making it home. This duo has an authentic sound, and should not be missed. http://www.reverbnation.com/smokestackandthefoothillfury

"This storytelling and blues-playing man......has been on the road for about two years now. He’s a pretty handsome and seemingly collected guy when he’s not playing, but once he starts........he talks and looks like a hillbilly — like someone who might pop out from behind a tree and scare you while you’re camping, or like a character in Jim Jarmusch’s Dead Man who cooks beans over a fire and says things like, “Terrible is what it is.” . Smokestack’s stories were about good karma, sleeping in his Chevy Blazer and getting his ace kicked while breaking up domestic disputes. I want to keep tabs on this guy. He’s a real character, and it’s good to know that there are people like him out there on the road in America."
