Benji Webbe Checks In From The Road
Well we waited for an opportunity to return to the USA as we haven’t toured in America since we did the American Rampage tour in 2007 when Roots Rock Riot first was released, and this past Disturbed tour was well worth the wait. Arena tours are always an incredible experience as we have been a band that plays in punk rock sweaty clubs all over the world but opening up for Disturbed at these sold out massive venues has been amazing. From the start of the tour all the guys in Disturbed and their crew were so good to us, there wasn't a bad egg among them, we all got along splendid and it was great to see this team all pulling n the same direction for the one vision: and that was to ROCK!
David, Dan, Mike and John all were great to us, no matter what you think of this band I know from first hand they are gentlemen, I dug the band before but now the level of respect for them has gone up 100%. Some bands who are not half the size of Disturbed treat the support acts like shit, but there was none of that crap on this tour at all.
We played some 27 dates on the tour, from the first night in Milwaukee to the last in Scranton. Every night we made new fans and entertained old ones, after performing the shows we all would go down and meet people and hang at the merchandise stand, I know that we love meeting people and answering peoples questions, like "Are you from Jamaica?" and "I love 7 Dust", “Hay LJ what’s it like to have Clint back in the band?” Standing there with a complete strangers arm around you whilst their mate attempts 5 times to take a picture with a shitty camera phone, your jaw starts to ache from holding the same pose, while they struggle with their horrible Motor roller razor to take our photograph!
The American crowds love to rock and so do we. I just really hope we get back to the states soon and play club venues of every town we played at because we all had such a rocking time and we are itching to get back and do a full set instead of the 30 minute opening slot, it just was not enough time.
We’d like to thank you all for calling the radio stations and demanding that they play Skindred. Please continue to do that and spread the word about the band. I know that we have the sound to win with this music that we make and bring a whole new element to music instead of the cookie cutter bands that is manufactured for you.
Skindred should be back in the USA for a full headline run in May. I want it to be even more insane than the shows we played with Disturbed, so if you got to get a hotel and do a road trip to see us, just do it coz like I said every night during the break down in our song Trouble, “You can Download all the music in the world go on YouTube ITunes even Limewire! But you can never download the energy and atmosphere that is created between Skindred and live audiences . That is what music is about the live and direct spirit and that's what the Disturbed tour gave us the chance to release nightly with passion and power … once again thanks to the band and their hard working crew, and a massive thank you to our old fans and new, we hope to see you on our club tour of the USA this coming May.
Bless up and let's push tings forward,
Benji

SKINDRED SET OCTOBER 23rd RELEASE FOR "ROCK ROOTS RIOT"
Ragga-Punk-Metal outfit SKINDRED have set October 23rd as the release date for the band's second album entitled "ROOTS ROCK RIOT". The group plan to release the first single from the effort "RAT RACE" in the coming weeks, with a radio impact date to shortly follow.
The recording of "ROOTS ROCK RIOT" was completed at BIELER BROS. STUDIOS in Pompano Beach, FL with producer Matt Squire (PANIC AT THE DISCO) and was mixed by Rick Will (BABYLON). The album will feature twelve tracks sure to take hardcore SKINDRED fans to a whole new level.
"ROOTS ROCK RIOT" will be the follow-up to the bands groundbreaking, breakthrough, debut album, "BABYLON", which tallied over 250,000 albums sold and featured the smash single "NOBODY" and it's successful follow up "PRESSURE". During the time of Babylon's release, SKINDRED toured the world exhaustively with the likes of KORN, CHEVELLE, BREAKING BENJAMIN, HIM, SEVENDUST, PAPA ROACH, SOULFLY and also appeared on the mega DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL; where SKINDRED frontman Benji Webbe took over vocals for KORN to perform their legendary song, A.D.I.D.A.S.
SKINDRED have kept a low profile stateside while writing the new record and touring their native UK. That will change upon the release of "ROOTS ROCK RIOT" as the band has extensive tour plans in the works.
"ROOTS ROCK RIOT" will be released October 23rd through Bieler Bros. Records.
IT'S ON!

RAGGA PUNK METAL! Skindred is quite simply unlike anything you've heard. Elements of Metal, Dancehall, Punk, and Drum & Bass, all swirling into a concoction of lethal addictiveness.
Skindred has already been winning over crowds worldwide with their intense RAGGA METAL sound. This band makes Metalheads, Punks and Dreadheads rock out to the same song; this is the true meaning of unity sound. Skindred are always busy writing & recording, and have built up quite an arsenal of Ragga Punk Classics. Oppurtunites to share the stage with bands such as Korn, Sevendust, Nonpoint, Papa Roach, HIM, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Voodoo Glow Skulls, POD, Soulfly (to name but a few), has allowed the band to build a rapidly growing international fanbase.
With songs like Nobody, Set It Off, Pressure and Selector this band is so far apart from the pack that any attempt to describe or categorize them is an exercise in futility. If Barrington Levy joined Pantera, where Bounty Killa met The Police, where Sublime met System Of A Down, you would find the sonic landscape Skindred calls home.
You'll have to look far & wide to find a band that encapsulates so many diverse styles, and unites different schools and cultures of music under one roof. In a desperate time where music fans are tired of the medio-core, starved for something new & striking, Skindred are the force that could sweep all generic adversaries aside.
