Emerging artist Shea Rose graduated Berklee College of Music in 2011 and has since been celebrated for her iconic music and style. Chosen by legendary musician and actress Queen Latifah for a CoverGirl music campaign in 2010, Rose was called ‘America’s next female rapper’ by Latifah and described by music critic Steve Morse as “that rare artist who can bridge diverse styles such as soul, funk, rock, rap and jazz -- and bring her unique stamp to each.” Following the release of her first EP, Rock ‘n’ Rose (2010) and her debut mixtape, Little Warrior (2011), Rose was named Artist of the Year at the 2011 Boston Music Awards and labeled the “artist most likely to make an impact on the national stage” by the Boston Globe. In 2012, Rose was awarded a SESAC Performance Activity Award for her collaboration on Terri Lyne Carrington’s Grammy-winning jazz album, The Mosaic Project, and was honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame with a scholarship award for “excellence in songwriting.”
