American Ballet of Los Angeles, KNR
Productions and musical artist Smirnov have partnered up for the world premiere of a multimedia
ballet performance called “The Great Giselle.” With choreography, libretto and mise en
scène by ABLA Directors Eddy & Kat Hawks, “The Great Giselle” premieres five shows on
March 9, 10 & 11, at the new El Segundo Performing Arts Center.
Played out in two acts by more than thirty dancers, actors and singers, with music by
Adolphe Adam, Smirnov and Walker Faison, “The Great Giselle” also features two original
short films by brothers Kevin & Rich Ragsdale, originally from Nashville Tennessee. Now
based in Venice, California, the Ragsdale Brothers have recently collaborated with ABLA,
based in Santa Monica, on a sizzle reel for a reality TV show called “Prima Ballerina.”
