STEPH MACPHERSON - It would seem an impossible dream to discover that you have been selected to open for Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Colbie Caillat, Erykah Badu and 5 other top female acts, but for Vancouver musician Steph Macpherson, this dream has become a reality. On July 1, 2010 after being selected through OurStage, as the Vancouver winner, Steph performed at Lilith Fair. As part of the media coverage for Lilith Fair, she also received interviews with CTV News, ETalk Daily, and the Peak 100.5 radio station. She also had airplay on CBC radio.
The news came just 3 weeks after learning she had been chosen as one of 20 artist, from nearly 500 applicants, to be part of Vancouver's radio station, The Peak 100.5, and Music B.C’s Peak Performance Project. The project provides musicians with the opportunity to work with top industry professionals, some of BC’s best up and coming musicians, and a chance to win significant funding support. Clearly Steph Macpherson’s latest EP “To You” has caused the music industry to take notice. But it is her stand out live shows that will keep them believing.
BODHI JONES spent his early years with his mother and sister on Salt spring Island, located between mainland British Columbia and Vancouver Island. He affectionately refers to it as a ³hippie paradise² and says spending his childhood there was a magical experience. When he was ten his mom moved the family from Salt spring to Vancouver in search of greater
opportunities...during this time Bodhi felt overwhelmed by the big city and became very isolated. He spent a lot of time home alone and it was at this time that his love of music was born. Bodhi¹s brand of urban folk and alternative pop has been compared to the likes of David Gray, Ben Harper, and Damien Rice. He's recorded 5 EP¹s and two full length albums over the past 5 years, selling over 10 000 copies while performing on the streets of downtown Vancouver. He recently wrote, recorded, and produced his self-titled full-length album in April of 2009.
