Team Buhara is a Ugandan village-based NGO which supports education, health and income generation in one of the poorest villages of western Uganda. Founded by Ugandan parents in 2007, Team Buhara continues to work tirelessly to provide school fees, HIV/AIDS outreach and agricultural training to Buhara Village. Please come together to support and raise funds for these families as they invest in agriculture, health care and school.
Celia Reddick, one of the event hosts, spent a year in Uganda, working with Team Buhara. She is committed to supporting Team Buhara as it works toward financial independence. If we raise $500 or more through this event, we can invest in two new pigs, build and stock a local clinic and continue Team Buhara's educational outreach. Please come out to support the organization, and our global neighbors!
How far does a dollar go?
$ .50 = daily glass of milk for child with HIV
$3.00 = school uniform, often a prohibitive gatekeeper to school attendance. Possession of a school uniform means better school attendance!
$15.00 = piglet, ensuring income for a family
$20.00 = CD4 count, first step in HIV treatment
