The Dalton Green Project Presents:
An Evening with Anthony David and Teri Tobin.
“As Above, So Below.” The ancient Hermetic saying from the legendary Emerald Tablet declares what is the above is from the below, and the below is from the above, and all these works of wonders are from the one (the source). Heady stuff for an R&B album title, but the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Anthony David has never been the kind of soul artist to “speak loudly, but say nothing.” With David, the sage psalm aptly describes the ruminations of a seeker whose walk travels over roots, soul, blues, reggae and hip hop to unabashedly express the unexpressed in men’s souls, from the carnal and the provocative to the unsure and the vulnerable. Digging deeper with every project, David continues to peel back layers of public identity, political chutzpah, and playa propaganda to use what lies beneath as the clay for something honest and real. Born on Valentine's Day, this Arizona-born soulstress, songwriter & producer began her professional singing career as a child when she was chosen to sing background vocals for the legendary Jeffrey Osborne and for the Rock Band Yes. Although most of her influences are male singers like Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and Donny Hathaway, Tobin is reminiscent of the sultry sounds and richness of R&B or Jazz singers of yesterday.
Teri Tobin independently released her critically acclaimed debut LP, LOVE INFINITY, which garnered her a SoulTracks 2011 Readers' Choice Award nominee. In that same year, CHRISTMAS CHILD - EP was received by many radio stations during the holiday season. Tobin is currently touring select cities in the U.S. with her "Love&Sol LIVE" concert series which kicked-off at the legendary Roxy Theatre in December. On Valentine's Day 2012, she released the title track and first single "So Good To Me" feat. Morris Alan from her sophomore full-length album of the same title. Visit www.teritobin.com for more info.
