Copper & Glass
What if everything that glitters isn’t gold? What if nothing is? What if, as the French philosopherRené Descartes famously pondered, we are destined to look back at all the shiny things we’ve piled into a massive heap in the corner of our tidy little lives only to find that all we’ve ever really had was a little copper and glass?
This is the question the five men from California's agricultural Central Valley have set out to answer with an organic, uncomprisingly authentic musical approach. The hard questions, they believe, are always best asked in a song. And the best songs move us ever-closer to the answers.
Copper & Glass is adept at churning out soft ballads and heavy groove-driven rockers alike - hearkening back to the straight-ahead rock 'n' roll of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Neil Young, while keeping a firm grasp on the twenty-first century sensibilities of more cerebral modern Americana/Roots artists like Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, and Mumford and Sons. Heavy on pedal steel, mandolin, organ, rhodes piano, and electric guitar; Copper & Glass provides an always interesting combination of sounds against a finely woven tapestry of sentiment.
Recently named the Tioga-Sequoia 2012 Band of the Year, Copper & Glass is currently planning a worldwide media campaign to support their self-titled release. Members have performed at notable Los Angeles area venues such as the legendary Whisky-a-Go-Go, a host of established venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, and countless stops across the West Coast and beyond. C&G has shared the stage with highly established bands such as widely popular Militia Group recording artists "Lakes," Park the Van artists "He's My Brother, She's My Sister," and the Central Valley's own "Poor Mans Poison," who hold the distinction of being the only independent artists to ever sell out the legendary Hanford Fox Theater.
