A Grammy Award nominee and three-time Native American Music Award nominee, Peter Phippen is a nationally and internationally respected world flute specialist, recording artist, scholar, educator, and producer.

Peter is a frequent performer and lecturer at universities, public/private elementary and secondary schools, museums, festivals, conferences, and conventions throughout the United States, as well as abroad. His presentations and performances are an enchanting mix of the very old and the very new in music. Peter offers a timeless world of sound images, covering the folklore and history of flutes from around the world and throughout time.

Peter has had four CDs released by Canyon Records. He has also played antique and contemporary bamboo flutes on three releases for Lifescapes, as well as five solo recordings with Promotion Music Records.
Peter's recordings have been aired on radio and television worldwide. His music can be heard on television programs for Animal Planet, The Discovery Channel, Music Television (MTV), and The Learning Channel, to name just a few. He has received international airplay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Germany, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, Panama, the Slovak Republic, and the United Kingdom.
