Halifax alt-rockers Shelter With Thieves — one of several acts who spent much of Friday milling about the airport with their gear, making the place seem like the backstage area at a music festival — were also writing off their Friday night performance in St. John’s, where they were hoping to capitalize on some of the JunoFest crowds. “We’re an indie band, so this is going to cost us a bunch of money,” said black-clad player Lloyd Smith, estimating the group stands to lose up to $2,000 if it has to cancel both its weekend shows. ”
