“In January, 2013, I weighed 208 pounds on a 5'9" frame. At my annual physical exam, my doctor advised me that I was pre-diabetic and needed to lose weight. I started a daily exercise program consisting of yoga, abdominal exercises, pushups, bodyweight squats, and low impact aerobics. I started with beginner yoga poses and worked my way toward more advanced postures which have increased my energy, flexibility, coordination, and body symmetry. I incorporate deep breathing exercises with yoga and cardiovascular training. I hold each Yoga pose for approximately 15 deep breaths. Being a musician, my vocal range has increased and I perform my weekly gigs with an increased amount of energy and stamina. I can remember song lyrics and acoustic guitar chords more clearly and with much more confidence. Each exercise session takes 75 minutes to complete. The only equipment I need is my yoga mat. Today, I weigh 177 lbs. which is a 31 lb loss. Yes, I can say with confidence that Real Men Do Yoga!”
