EXPERIENCE THE REAL LIFE THROUGH HER MUSIC...
About
Objective: To create a music that no one has ever heard but everyone can relate to
Goal: To exceed high limits, get my fam out the hood and be one of the most inspirational r&b artist's in history.
My Story:
From the streets of Baltimore, Maryland I grew from concrete... through all the drugs, the violence, the come up's, and the put downs; I came through it like a bat out of hell and still goin'. I was born at the prime of my parents life in 1984 and was raised by numerous people of the family. I obtained my wisdom from my aunt, who began taking care of me at three months.
My strength was indured while living with my grandmother, and my personality and looks were captured from my mother and father. Throughout my life I've witnessed more than most and have gone through trials and tribulations that you probably could'nt imagine... some of which I've created myself but just like everyone else, most problems stemed from my household. With my aunt being the oldest out of thirteen children, she raised me to be wiser than my generation by inheriting in me morals and clear teachings of life's aspects. From there I was set free while living with my grandmother. Although my grandmother had set morals for us, my aunt was a lot stricter. While living with my grandmother I quickly became eager to learn more about the environment and the streets...since my aunt hardly let me outside. I was about 11 when I moved with with my grandmother and from there came my first ciggerette, my first blunt, my first everything....even my first song. I remember my grandmother always asking me to sing her the gospel song.."His Eye is on the Sparrow". To be honest, I've been singing all my life but it really was'nt until my family told me I could sing when I noticed I had any talent in that department. My thing was always scetching.
At age 12 I remember my uncle taking me to a studio where I recorded my first song. Hearing myself professionally recorded for the first time was like a melody from heaven. From there I began participating in talent shows, at school events; etc. I gave it a break for a while while choosing to be entertained by the worthless recources of the streets. It was all a dream back then. It seemed like time was going no where. Before I knew it I was 15, pregnant with my first child. Then at 16 I was pregnant again. Music never stayed far behind though.
Gradually I was in and out of the studio writing and recording music. I dipped off again for a minute to live this life that I thought was so great and eventually got pregnant again at age 18. It was in 2005 when I had my second son and found myself in the world of music again. I recorded several self-written songs in different local studio's across Baltimore. In 2006 I had my third son and allowed pregnancy to be a set back in my life again. By 2007 I was back in the studio, making some of the greatest music I ever made. During that time I still had my set backs but occasionally I'd find myself back in the hands of music. Again I began recording with local rap groups and solo artist. Some of which my songs remain digitally and locally popular. My music family include local producers, rappers and composer's like Producer/Rapper/Engineer, V.A. of Owings Mills, MD, D.J. Rod Braxton (formally of Baltimore's Radio Station 92Q) Rapper/Producer J.O. of Baltimore, D.J. Mike/Producer/Engineer( a close former friend of Tupac Shakur who starred in the famous Tupac Documentary "Tupac Ressurection"), First Fam Entertainment, Rapper/Performer Ray Victory, Rapper Meechie from East Baltimore, Rapper Roy Rucker, Producer/ Engineer/D.J. White, Producer/Rapper T.J.... some of which I may not've mentioned but for those who know me well know I got love for all who helped me get ahead.
It is now 2009 and I am still in the music world, still growing. My mission is to reach those with similar stories and become a prime example of independance and self achievement within the urban woman population. I had my fourth son on Valentine's day of this year. I'm currently working towards my first book " In the Midst of it All". My songs are becoming more and more popular over time, I'm meeting more people, breaking through more doors... I mean seriously, this music thing has been jumpin' off but thats not why I persue it. I have been chosen out of no where to be the one with amazing talent that can affect the world if I allow it to. It is my choice, it is my decision. But at the same time it is my gift, that can be used as a positive resource for today's generation. I want my music to be an out let for those who feel like giving up sometimes. I want it to strengthen the young and grab the souls of the old. I want my music to change the minds of my women who thought they could'nt do it. Wanting these things make me strive even harder. I plan to persue this career to help others and support my family. I plan to achieve these goals despite any trials or tribulations. I believe I owe that to the people who listen to my music.
Keep in touch. I'll be adding new info from time to time to my bio about whats goin' on with me and how I'm managing raising five children and still achieving my goals. To all my ladies...Keep ya' head up, and neva' give up.
Tupac Shakur once said.... "I may not be able to change the world, but I guarantee I'll be the one who sparks the brain of the one who changes the world" I admire that saying because he has proved himself by sparking the brains of young people including myself. To gain knowledge from this man was a gifted privilege. Although he isn't the only icon I admire in this game professionally, he is the greatest.
