About

Seguida:…To follow quickly without interruption..........

SEGUIDA is a name that is very recognizable to the ardent Latin music aficionado. From their inception in 1972, Fania Record artists, Seguida had paved the way for the genre of Latin Rock to blossom. Their distinctive "East Coast" Afro-Cuban-Salsa-Rock sound grew out of the barrios of the Bronx, NY and has continued to delight audiences all over the world in present times. Seguida has now been chosen by MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL to be part of mlb.com's MAJOR LEAGUE ARTIST SERIES! MLB has created a special MLB/SEGUIDA webpage with all new music videos, band interviews and much more! Included as part of the Fania All Stars, Seguida has toured extensively throughout the country spreading their infectious sounds of Latin-Rock-Jazz as they shared the stage with such great Latin music stars as Larry Harlow, Eddie Palmieri, Hector LaVoe, Willie Colon, and the list goes on. Their two albums on the Fania Music Label (Love is...Seguida, & On Our Way To Tomorrow...Seguida) still continue to enjoy record sales all over the world. Present day bandleader/producer/composer/drummer, Steve Adorno has rekindled the band and brought a mixture of original and new members together to record a third CD just recently released  on THEIR OWN  independent label Onroda Records. The Latin-Rock explosion began, when Santana first burst onto the music scene in the late sixties and early Seventies. While Latin Alternative music was becoming popular in the West Coast, group of talented musicians from the Bronx in New York City wanted to build upon and fuse the Caribbean roots of Afro Cuban Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and New York City Salsa. The group is called Seguida. Fania Recording Artist Seguida's music is a unique mix of funk, hip hop, rock, r&b, salsa and jazz. Latin Fusion. Seguida has shared the stage with many top acts such as Larry Harlow, Ray Barretto, Johnny Pacheco, G.Q., The Persuaders,  and was the opening Act for The Fania All Stars live at Yankee Stadium “Our Latin Thing” Concert and Film. Seguida was chosen as the official Latin Band of MAJOR  LEAGUE BASEBALL and are currently being featured on MLB.COM. Last month Americas largest concert promoters, LIVE NATION presented “The legendary pioneers of latin rock” concert starring SEGUIDA & MALO to a sell out crowd. Continuing with their tradition of using English vocals and Spanish Soneros to top off a hot salsa-soul-rock feel has proven to be a successful formula for Seguida. Seguida combines flavors of R&B, Hip-Hop, & Jazz to round out the new sounds of Seguida and signifies a pathway into the future for this very dynamic band.
Along with original founding member & guitarist/composer Louie Perez, vocalist/composer Lori Rose, the newly formed Seguida is powered by a very talented lineup of seasoned musicians. Included here are well known trumpet player Pete Nater, bass player Wally Irizarry, and Gregory Rahiim Press on keyboards. Phil Ocasio & Julian Meyers on woodwinds,  Joe Dejesus on trombone,  Congero Pito Castillo and Carlos go-go Gomez on timbales, round out Seguida live show.
