Celtic Celebrations is a collaborative venture formed in 2013 by some of the mid-state's favorite Irish Artists in order to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief. After raising over $6,500 for that cause, The Celtic Martins, Seasons, and The Rebel Heart Irish Dancers return this year with a concert benefitting Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. Join these great acts in an explosion of Celtic and Christmas Melodies along with elegant and rhythmic dance. 50% of all proceeds go to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors.
Join us as we rock St Paddy's Day proper with a night of music, libations, comradery, and a celebration of all things Irish. Slainte!
LANCASTER, February 17, 2014 – With just one month to go to St. Patrick’s Day, neighboring Irish-infused establishments Annie Bailey’s Irish Pub (28 East King Street) and Tellus360 (24 East King Street), together with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOOSE), announce today joint plans to ring in the iconic holiday with an all-things-Irish block party – the King Street Seisiún (“session” in Irish). The inaugural St. Patrick’s Day event is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 from 2-9 p.m. and will take over the zero block of East King Street, including a ticketed area (for 21+ only) spanning from the corner of King and Christian streets and stretching to South Duke Street. The street will be closed for traffic from 2-11 p.m. Like any true Irish session, the King Street Seisiún is centered around great live music, including Central Pennsylvania-based Celtic acts The Kilmaine Saints, The Ogham Stones and Seasons, with 92.7 WKZF’s Holly Love serving as emcee. Rounding out the entertainment schedule are dance performances by the Hooley School of Irish Dance, bag pipers and a special Lancaster version of Irish Dancing with the Stars featuring local celebrities. During the King Street Seisiún, attendees will purchase tokens to use when buying food and drinks. A beer truck will be parked featuring brews from Guinness Stout, Magners Irish Cider and Lancaster Beverage. Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Bailey’s Irish Cream are also featured. Annie Bailey’s will serve a variety of Irish dishes, including shepherd’s pie and bangers and mash. Subway will also be open and serving food during the event. In addition to the ticketed area, both Annie Bailey’s and Tellus360 will remain open to the public throughout the day for normal business. Tickets to the King Street Seisiún are $15, and will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, February 19 at 12pm. Advance tickets are for sale at both Annie Bailey’s and Tellus360, or online at http://kingstreetseisiun.eventbrite.com. The event will benefit The Junior League of Lancaster, Mayor’s Office of Special Events and Music For Everyone and VisionCorps. For more information: AnnieBTellus@gmail.com (717) 393-4000

"Seasons is traditional Celtic music at its best. Not only are they keeping our traditional music alive but they are doing it on very traditional instruments. It’s not often you find a band made up of young people playing the Celtic harp, hammered dulcimer, fiddle, bodhran and penny whistle among other things! They are an award winning family band that you can’t go wrong with booking. You will not be disappointed by this incredibly talented group.”
