Sascha Mersch is a pianist, singer-songwriter and performer from Berlin. His compositions as well as the way he stages them are forceful, sombre and agressive. He sings his songs into the heads of his audience and right between their legs. When he hits the keys it feels as if a symphony orchestra was playing - fortunately this has little relation to the jingle of a well-tempered piano.

What he is composing is Mersch music. You can - if you absolutely want to - find connections. To Nick Cave, for example and thus to this mixture from indie, punk and ballads which establishes a wide range. But actually what he is composing, playing and singing is self-contained. And at live concerts it storms from the stage and stirs the space between the ears of the audience: percussive pianocore.
