About
About Sammon:
Sammon is a singer-songwriter from Barnsley who has been referred to as the L.S. Lowry of the Artistic Freedom Collective due to his wry take on Northern life. He pens erudite songs laced with wit and irony with more than a passing nod to the folk tradition of story telling. His work includes a sad lament of the demise of his home town’s industrial heritage (What Chuck D Said), a reworking of the Frog-Prince fairytale with the role of the prince taken by a socialist (The Frog Song) and the shenanigans of an unsavoury character at a music festival (Acoustic Tent). Simple songs about complex things indeed, have a listen, enjoy and make up your own mind......
Sammon also plays with Keiran Moses and Stu Hall in Sizzling Samosas and Chris Wilkinson in a collaboration entitled The Tatlocks.
Sammon was recently added to the AF Collective roster of bands run by Rick Allardyce (AKA DJ Buddha).
