Bio
Upcoming actress and poet Sabrina Gilbert has performed at college conferences,venues and theaters along the east coast and in the Midwest. She continues to push the envelope in her work as she allows her writing to constantly evolve and defy the laws of gravity. In 2008 she became the Grand Slam Champion of Slam Richmond’s 2008 team, making her the first woman to do so! She also helped start Lyric Ave in 2003, which today is the largest poetry show on the east coast(consistently serving an audience of over 800 people). Her debut album ‘Come Get Me’ took her colleagues by storm with it’s electrifying tracks and powerful messages!!!

Sabrina Gilbert is no stranger to performance!!! As the second of five children she got a head start in developing and cultivating her creativity! She's participated in everything from Martial Arts (holds a second degree balck belt in Tae Kwon Do) to Poetry and continues to surprise her audience with her diverse range and powerful messages!!!
Her debut album, "Come Get Me", is an excellent example of the wide range of influences and inspiration she's had for her art. The album is definitely turning heads and quickly becoming a favorite amongst music lovers of all ages! Executive produced by internationaly known artist, Ainsley Burrows, the ablum features hip hop, reggae and even salsa tracks which compliment her crafty lyrics perfectly and takes you on a balanced journey through current social/political, relationship and personal struggles that we all face.
As a young lady always striving towards improvement and higher hieghts(graduated Magnum Cum Lade from Virginia Commonwealth University in May of 05) Ms. Gilbert has already begun work on her next two projects which are her sophomore album, 'STICKY' (a collection of Love/Erotic poems which will release in April 09) and her first book which is expected to be released in the winter of 2009!!! So keep your eyes and ears tuned for this tripple threat artist!!!
