Rula Brown was born in Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to the USA to pursue a M.S.M.E from NJIT with high honors. He worked for AT&T for a number as a designer of telecommunication equipment. He listened to the music of Dennis Brown, Bob Marley & Stylistics. While studying he sang and produced his first song titled "Life Without Love" which he released on his own BEE CAT label. The single went to # 5 on the reggae charts in NY.
