"There is something about this CD that stands out. The songs are really good but that’s only part of it. It’s somewhere in the mix of the quality of Ross’ playing, his fantastic layering of guitar parts, his use of effects, the sidemen, and the quality of the recording, that the planets all align, and the result is something special. With Al Britton (bass) and Bruce Stephens (drums & percussion) in the engine room you’ve got the makings of a great trio. And the sound is augmented on some tracks by Martin Davidson on sax. Add to all that the fact that Ross is in fine voice, and that the whole thing was beautifully captured by Peter Northcote, and it’s all very good! "..... Gary deWall
