Q: How did you go about researching and gathering the folk songs for Africa? What steps did you take to ensure this composition retained it's cultural integrity?
A: Thanks for the note and interest. FYI...the grooves are absolutely authentic. They were drawn from an ethnomusicologist's recordings done in Western Africa. The melodies above the grooves are mine with the exception of an African folk song in the middle of the piece. Hope this helps. Thanks again! RWS
