Bio
Formed in October of 2002, interest in Seattle's Rishloo has been growing steadily ever since. With a signature sound that blends beautiful ambience with profound lyrics and hard-hitting epic climaxes, fans in the U.S. and abroad are raving about Rishloo's original music and intense live show.
About
Formed in late 2002, Seattle's RISHLOO continue to gain wide-spread recognition for their dynamic sound, thought-provoking lyrics and intense live performance. Often compared to bands like Dredg, The Mars Volta, Fair to Midland and A Perfect Circle, RISHLOO strives to push the envelope of epic progressive art rock, drawing inspiration from classic artists like The Beatles, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd, while incorporating the modern experimentations and emotional depth of artists such as Tori Amos, Deftones, Radiohead and Porcupine Tree.
Continuing as they have since their inception as an entirely independent venture, RISHLOO have sold 3,500+ units of their debut album, Terras Fames (2004) and 4,500+ units of their sophomore effort, Eidolon (2007) while attracting tens of thousands of fans online from around the globe. Interest in the band continues to grow exponentially on sites such as Myspace, Reverb Nation and Last.FM where RISHLOO has become one of the largest and fastest growing indie groups with more than a five-fold increase in plays over the last eight months from 60,000 to nearly 320,000 with another 1,500+ plays added daily.
With a lot of hard work and much appreciated help from their fans, RISHLOO continue to travel and perform whenever possible throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada. In the course of their adventures, they have been privileged to share the stage with artists like Papa Roach, Fair to Midland, Ashes Divide, Sevendust, Trapt, Strata and Judas Priest. For now, the band continues to perform regionally while finishing up their newest release, FeatherGun, due out in June of 2009. Here's what the fans have to say:
Every track is great. Even the interludes. No joke! I never thought RISHLOO could top Terras Fames but WOW. Eidolon blows it away. Exceeded FAR beyond my expectations. Brilliantly and cleverly written lyrics. So much emotion in this CD. I'm in love with it. I can listen to it all day. And I have everyday since the CD came in the mail. This CD sounds nothing like anything anyone has ever heard. Incredibly original. The artwork and design is fantastic. Very intriguing to look at. Great CD. I give this a 6 out of 5 rating. I would like to personally thank RISHLOO for creating such great art. I definitely recommend buying this record. These guys are true artists. No idea why they aren't signed.

This album hit me in the head like a brick. The opening noise sequence builds in to the albums first song(,) the aggressive "Freaks & Animals." This baby has one of my favourite heavy moments of this year. El Empe follows and then Rishloo calms down a bit on Pandora. Another highlight because of the dreamy soundscape. All in all this cd is one of the best and most ambitious works this year.
