Bio
Rick Frost came out of the womb w/ guitar in hand. At 2 years of age he wrote “Mother Should Have Had An Abortion”. It was banned world-wide. He’s been making trouble since!
His last CD, “Something Special” sent 10 singles out. All 10 found a spot at #1 on a Chart somewhere. The next CD, “15 Souls In My Pocket” will be released in Sept./June, 2009.Rick will be working extensively with Reverbnation.com and Hardcoremix.com to get the word (and sound out).
Hope you enjoy it!

Rick Frost's next CD, "15 Souls In My Pocket", due out in April, 2009
- promises to be an absolute monster!!!
Meet Rick Frost
For over a decade Rick Frost and Jae Sherman stomped up and down the
East Coast of the U.S., as much a force of political expression as
they were a source of musical entertainment. The vast majority of
tunes penned by Rick Frost were overtly political and the duo's
agenda, with regard to appearances, was true to their expressed
political ideology. Over 90% of the gigs, performed by Frost and
Sherman, over a ten-year period, were benefits! The commitment to
social justice being so overwhelmingly strong that the duo often
turned down gigs-for-pay, in order to perform at benefits that they
felt were a priority.
After ten years of playing together, Rick and Jae amicably split
their act up. It was basically nothing more than life taking two
individuals in opposite directions. Rick embarked on a four year
hiatus during which very little was heard from him. In Jan. 2006,
Rick ended his self-imposed exile and returned to the stage with the
same determination and focus that he was known for previously. The
Rick Frost/Jae Sherman Political Commentary Duo had become the Rick
Frost Political Commentary Solo Act.
When questioned, as to his focus, Rick Frost retorted, nothing has
changed. Polarization of wealth is more pronounced than ever before.
Racism is now purely de facto. There are more people in poverty than
ever before, the only thing that hasn't changed is the federally set
minimum poverty level how's that for a laugh??
A review of Rick's new material seems to belie a kinder, less
in-your-face indictment of the excesses of capitalism; however the
indictment is still very much visible. When asked about the somewhat
softer verbal approach, Rick said, " I'm not here to judge anybody.
I'm not qualified in that respect. I am qualified to make general
moral judgements and encourage change - as are we all.?
The music itself is superb! If one looks at the various sites where
Rick Frost's music is available for listening, the general theme in
listener commentary is that they (the listener) can't really find any
one to whom they can compare Rick. He just “doesn't quite sound
like anybody else. Or, as Jamie, of the Band Jennifer 8, put it, "No
special effects, no razzle dazzle, no theatrics or gimmics. Just
damned good song writing …wonderful work …nice and fresh. I can't
really say it sounds like anyone. I really like it. Take good notes
class!" That is quite a compliment in this day and age of musical
redundancy.
As to how good the listening experience is - the numbers are
beginning to speak for themselves. Since joining MySpace a year ago,
Rick has been in the MySpace Top Ten, in his three sub-genres, for
the State of CT, approximately 95% of the time. Rick delivered a
sizzling 2007 and 2008.
Rick was named the U.K.- based AFCollective.com's “Artist of The
Month" for both March and April, 2008. Rick was also named
Extraplay.com's “Featured Artist" for March, 2008. Dogs In The
Moonlight, was released as the Something Special single on
Extraplay.com and in a matter of two weeks the song shot to #1 on
Extraplay.com's, U.S. Chart, for All Genres, (where it remained # 1
song for over 32 weeks); the song also captured the No.1 Slots on
Extraplay's World Acoustic Chart, U.S. Acoustic Chart, World and U.S.
Download Charts and #1 on the World Plays Chart, for All Genre's. At
the same time, plays on MySpace.com of the Something Special MP3s
climbed to over 35,000. Something Special kicked off May, 2007 as
the #1 Album on both Extraplay.com's U.S. Plays/All Genres/All Music
and World Plays/AllGenres/AllMusic Charts. The MySpace.com success
continued to roll with "Something Special" Ranked No. 1, in the Folk
Rock Genre roughly 90% of that time; in the Top 4 for the Acous
tic Genre for about 90% of the time; and in the Top Ten for the
Indie Genre 85% of the time.
Furthermore, on May 25, 2007, "Something Special" was named
Extraplay.com's "Feature Album".
For Rick, the exciting part of all the recent exposure is the
potential that it represents for the charity causes that are his main
focus. That sentiment was probably best captured by Rebecca
Weingartner in the March 25, 2007 interview she did with Rick for the
California based E-zine, Associated Content, in which he announced
that all of the tracks from his last two releases were available for
a $1 per track, with 50% of each purchase going to an assortment of
charities that are signed on with Extraplay.com.
The last two questions of this particular interview probably offered
the best glimpse of what this artist, Rick Frost, is really all about.
Rebecca Weingartner: What do you offer that is unique, or different?
Rick Frost: I believe the world is going to be saved via music. I
honestly believe it. I have a tremendous love for the dispossessed. I
hate greed, polarization of wealth, racism, etc. The funny thing is I
used to think that I was going to contribute to saving the world by
saving the poor. Now, I believe I am going to be part of the saving
of this world, by the poor, as they patiently teach the rest of us
what love is.
RW: Is there anything additional you really want people to know about
you and your music?
RF: Anything else? Yes. I believe very strongly in the power of love.
Love can heal anything. Music can be an expression of love and in the
end that is all we have. Did we love well enough? Did we love well
enough to ensure universal dignity for all beings. I want to be able
to say yes. So, I'll play anywhere, anytime for any worthy cause all
one needs to do is get me there and back and throw me enough to cover
picks, guitar strings and an occasional bowl of oatmeal.
Something Special appears to be finishing out 2007 by becoming a
Number 1 Disc - a track at a time.
In Sept., 2007, Something Special, the title track to the CD of the
same name, was put into rotation by the award winning internet radio
network - Hardcoremix.com. Within 4 weeks Something Special shot to
#1 on the All-genre Chart, where it remained for 12 weeks (breaking
network records). In Nov. 2007, hardcoremix.com added "You're Gone",
from the Something Special CD, to its' rotation - within 4 weeks (the
date of this update) the song had moved to the #1 position on the
All-genre chart.
Since then, in mid-February, 2008 - "Curse" also off the Something
Special album was posted as hardcoremix.com's All-Genre #1 Song - a
position it retained for 3 weeks. It was soon followed into the #1
Slot by "Hey Allie" - the 9th song from Something Special to reach
the #1 position on a major chart! As of March 30, 2008 - "Hey Allie"
is still #1 on the hardcoremix.com All-Genre Chart.
Other exciting developments : Rick Frost joined Reverbnation.com in
2008. Entering the Alternative charts at # 14,000 +, in 4 weeks Rick
shot to #457 on the Chart and saw his Band Equity Rating climb to 302
(almost 5 times the Alternative Artist Average Ranking).
During the interim, as we wait for the world to be saved, the kudos
continue to roll in:
FROM THE PRESS:
“Perhaps you are not familiar with Rick Frost, if not, you should
be. He is a modern day musical crusader, who rocks with musical
messages of what's wrong in today's society. POWER SLAMMED, A Musical
Review, The Trumpeter, by Roger Straub
Referred to by local press as a “crowd pleaser who generates
excitement whenever he appears. Frost is widely known for his
smouldering brand of socio-political originals."
Frost In May, The Shoreline Times, Ent. Ed.
Rick Frost's last appearance at the Stony Creek Puppet Theater and
Performing Arts Center, resulted in accolades from the local press,
such as, “good stage presence, accomplished musical style, an
impressive blend of acoustic/electric originals - a great set!
Rick Frost Band of the Month, Giglist.com
Local artist Rick Frost with …his tall thin frame and Edgar Winter
hair immediately engaged the crowd with his congenial banter dry
humor and nimble licks on the acoustic guitar. Rick was on a poetic
and spiritual mission and his politics and spirituality came through
on the wings of some powerful lyrics which he delivered in a vocal
style somewhere between Arlo Guthrie and Elvin Bishop; a nice balance
of sarcasm and genuine worldly concern. A very effective package.A

TOWER RECORDS - A CONSUMER REVIEW
Rick Frost is a great guitarist and prolific lyricist. I have had the
pleasure of seeing him perform “live" as both an electric and as an
acoustic guitarist. I know for a fact, that this guy made this CD
with very little money. Yet, the songs are uniquely his own and
tastefully presented. WATCH OUT - if this dude ever gets released
with a creative budget behind him things are going to explode.
The thing with Rick is that he lives his words. Hypocrisy isn't in
his dictionary. Of the thousands of gigs he's done, over the course
of the past decade, over 90% of them have been done for charity -
even though he can't afford to buy his own car. Amazing guy - writes
amazing songs, as is evidenced on “Somethin Special? From his
“tip of the hat" to “What the Bleep? with the penning of
“Nothing We Can't Do" To his assassination of those things
technical with “I Threw My Cell Phone In The Ocean Today" Rick is
refreshingly original. Visit his web site. Listen to the whole CD for
free -then buy it!
All I can say is it is quite a piece of work for one guy with one guitar.

The ultimate goal, in establishing this site, is to establish a
resource that is enduring, with regard to its' ability to contribute
to the on-going effort to foster a state of collective dignity
for all humankind.
Once this site is self-sufficient, hopefully by the time of my next

donated to charitable organizations, to assist in their efforts to
provide access to basic medical care, provision of basic daily human
requirements and on-going efforts to alleviate global poverty -
including the huge poverty problem right here in the U.S.
Unfortunately, those suffering the most from the ravages
of poverty are our world's children - or, i.e our future. Our
children are our future.
Please get on my e-mail list and I will keep you informed as to the
progress of this project. Once initiated, all records of finances

The arctic waters have begun to boil
Our seas polluted by blood and oil
Those who orchestrate it say its your imagination
The body counts on both sides grow high
A new twin towers to the sky
Human Gods' tell us it is but an hallucination
They send forth an idiot on a white horse
Who mumbles shit like "stay the course"
See's himself as essential to messianic visions
But he can't understand the pain he brings
He's merely a puppet thing that hangs on strings
