While many instrumentalists that came after the flower power area were busy exchanging their musical idols for glam rock power chords or disco beats, then-teenager Richie Arndt kept alive his enthusiasm for his guitar heroes: Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, and of course Jimi Hendrix.

However, the guitarist has never believed in simply copying his idols. He studied classical guitar during his educational music studies programme at the college in his hometown Bielefeld and was later chosen to participate in the “Popular Music” programme at the Hamburger Musikhochschule (Music College Hamburg) launched in 1981.

In the years to follow, he became fully involved with life as a professional Top 40- musician with the "Skydogs" (alongside Atze Schröder, who is now a famous comedy star, on drums). Due to playing 120-140 gigs on average per year in discotheques, gala performances and other major events across Germany, the young blues musician found the perfect environment that fostered his talent in order to become a brilliantly skilful instrumentalist, singer and performer.

After 10 years of being a “service provider“, Richie preferred to return to the more challenging world of artistic work. In 1994 he founded the three-piece Blues/Rock band “Richie Arndt & The Bluenatics“ which gave him the chance to play the kind of music he has always wanted to play: the Blues.

He earned himself an excellent reputation as one of Germany’s most versatile Blues- & Rock guitarists be it with his Bluenatics, as guest musician in various other bands or as studio musician for numerous CD productions.
